The Fei Lung, also known as the Eastern Dragons, are a faction of dragons living in Asia.[1]

History[]

The Fei Lung have a 3000-year-old blood feud with the Western Dragons. Both factions are are very possessive and are willing to wreak havoc when disrespected. Their anger has caused unusual weather patterns, geysers, earthquakes, and other natural disasters that have been recorded across the centuries, including the 1906 San Francisco earthquake.

In 2014, the Mystic Pearl of the Fei Lung was stolen, supposedly by the Western Dragons. The loss resulted in a series of earthquakes as the dragons awakened, including ones in Mongolia, Taiwan, China, and Japan. Their representative, Mr. Drake, went to the Library and called for an Intercession to address the theft, as well as other grievances between the Eastern and Western Dragons. The Librarians found the Pearl in the hidden lair of the Western Dragons, but discovered that the Western Dragons hadn't been behind the theft. After the Intercession became a Conclave, Ezekiel realized that Mr. Drake had stolen the Pearl as part of a plot with Dulaque for control of the Library. With the Pearl retrieved (albeit then destroyed, due to the fact that it was secretly hiding the Apple of Discord) and the thief caught, the war between the dragons was averted.

Behaviour[]

Like their rivals the Western Dragons, the Fei Lung are intelligent and powerful creatures, but also incredibly possessive and quick to anger if they feel slighted. Although the Eastern Dragons can be reasoned with, they are inconsistent in their temperment. They spend 90% of their time asleep and their awakening is accompanied by various drastic changes in weather and natural disasters. The dragons are also very detail-oriented, as shown by their long list of grievances presented at the Intercession.

According to Flynn, all dragons like sleep, Russ Meyer movies, and puzzles. They are also incapable of lying.

Abilities[]

The Fei Lung are elemental spirits and have inherent magical abilities.

Weather Anomalies: the dragons can cause weather anomalies when awakened.

Earthquakes and Geysers: the dragons cause earthquakes and geysers as they emerge from their underground sleep, or when angered.

Magical Power: although the details are unknown, the dragons are powerful enough that if the two factions had gone to war, it would likely have resulted in the destruction of over half the world.
